Spinal and Joint Manipulation

Spinal and joint manipulation, also known as chiropractic adjustment, is a core treatment in chiropractic care. This technique involves applying controlled force to the spine’s vertebrae or other joints of the body eg. the sacroiliac joint or elbow joint  that have abnormal movement patterns or fail to function normally. The objective is to increase range of motion, reduce nerve irritability, and improve function.

Benefits
  • Relieves back and neck pain
  • Enhances joint mobility
  • Reduces compression and irritation of nerve pathways
  • Improves posture, range of motion and physical function

Who Can Benefit

  • Individuals experiencing chronic back and neck pain
  • Patients with posture-related discomfort
  • Those suffering from headaches originating from the neck

Physical Therapies

Our physical therapies are tailored to complement spinal adjustments, aiding in the recovery and strengthening of the musculoskeletal system. We utilize a variety of techniques based on your specific needs.

Techniques Include

  • Therapeutic Exercise: Custom exercises to improve range of motion and strength
  • Soft Tissue Therapy: Techniques like massage to relax tight muscles and relieve spasms
  • Ultrasound Therapy: Using sound waves to treat deep tissue injuries by reducing inflammation and pain
  • Electromodalities: different electrical wave forms to treat muscle spasms, pain, improve muscle strength and neuro-muscular reeducation (eg. stroke rehab)

Dry Needling

Dry needling is a therapeutic technique where a very fine, needle is gently inserted into tight knots in the muscle (called trigger points).

These trigger points can cause pain, stiffness, or discomfort locally and sometimes in other areas of the body. By targeting them directly, dry needling helps:

Pain Relief

·       Releases muscle knots (trigger points)

·       Reduces local and referred pain (neck, back, shoulders, hips, etc.)

Improves Muscle Function

·       Restores normal muscle length and tension

·       Enhances flexibility and range of motion

Speeds Up Recovery

·       Boosts blood flow and oxygen to tight muscles

·       Promotes healing of soft tissue injuries

Reduces Headaches & Jaw Pain

·       Helps with tension-type headaches and migraines

·       Eases TMJ and facial muscle tightness

Supports Athletic Performance

·       Decreases muscle fatigue and soreness

·       Prevents injury by correcting muscle imbalances

Natural & Drug-Free

·       Uses the body’s own healing response

·       A safe, minimally invasive approach

Cupping

change her skin tone to brownCupping is an ancient therapy that’s still widely used today in wellness and musculoskeletal care. It involves placing special cups on the skin to create suction, which increases circulation and promotes healing. Here are the main benefits of cupping therapy:

Physical Benefits

  • Pain relief: Helps reduce muscle aches, joint pain, and stiffness by improving blood flow to affected areas.
  • Improved circulation: The suction stimulates blood flow, bringing oxygen and nutrients to tissues.
  • Reduced muscle tension: Loosens tight fascia and muscles, promoting relaxation and flexibility.
  • Detoxification: Encourages lymphatic drainage, supporting the body’s natural detox process.
  • Sports recovery: Speeds up recovery from exercise, decreases lactic acid build-up, and helps with injury rehab.

Wellness & Relaxation

  • Stress relief: Many people feel deeply relaxed after cupping, similar to massage.
  • Improved sleep: Relaxation and reduced pain can support better sleep quality.
  • Boosted immunity: By stimulating circulation and lymphatic flow, it may support immune function.

Skin & Circulatory Health

  • Reduced inflammation: Can calm local inflammation in tissues.
  • Better skin health: Sometimes used for cellulite, scars, and improving skin elasticity.

Cupping can leave temporary circular marks or bruises (not painful, usually fade in a few days). It should be avoided if someone has skin infections, bleeding disorders, or certain medical conditions unless cleared by a healthcare provider.

Sports Strapping

Sports strapping (also known as athletic taping or kinesiology taping) is a simple but powerful tool used in sports, chiropractic, and rehab care. It involves applying specialized tape to support muscles and joints during activity. Here are the main benefits:

Performance & Support

  • Joint stability: Provides extra support to weak or injured joints without restricting movement.
  • Enhanced performance: Gives athletes more confidence in their movements, reducing fear of re-injury.
  • Improved muscle activation: Certain taping methods can help “wake up” underactive muscles.

Injury Prevention & Protection

  • Prevents overuse injuries: Reduces strain on muscles and joints during repetitive movements.
  • Supports healing tissues: Protects ligaments, tendons, and muscles while they recover.
  • Reduced risk of re-injury: Keeps vulnerable areas stable during sport or training.
  • Recovery & Rehab
  • Pain relief: Tape can reduce pressure on pain-sensitive areas and help with posture correction.
  • Swelling control: Kinesio tape helps with lymphatic drainage, reducing swelling and bruising.
  • Faster recovery: By improving circulation and support, healing time may be shortened.

Comfort & Confidence

  • Posture correction: Can gently guide proper alignment, especially in shoulders, knees, or lower back.
  • Mental reassurance: Many athletes feel more secure and confident when strapped.
